MEDITATION
Meditation Medication: The Relaxation Response and Beyond The Relaxation Response
Every major religious tradition has its own versions of meditation. In the late 1960’s Harvard
Medical School’s Dr. Herbert Benson began scientific/medical research eventually demonstrating
that meditation is indeed “good medicine”. These studies uncovered the “common thread” of the various traditions and led to the development of a practical form of meditation that Benson named
The Relaxation Response. Free from any particular religious dogma, it is appropriate for
everyone. While the Response was initially facilitated through a quiet contemplative meditative
style, Benson’s staff learned over years of use and experiment that it can be accessed through
several methods, including physical exercise such as jogging. So whether by nature you are a
couch-potato or a jock, you can learn it in this 2-hour seminar. But do so only if you want to
lower your stress (and your blood pressure), sleep more restfully, let go of fatigue, think more
clearly, and contribute to your overall health. Since well over 65% of presenting problems in the doctor’s office are primarily stress-based, regular meditation practice is both preventive and
corrective “medicine”. Rx for this medication: a fifteen minute dose, once or twice a day. And it
has no negative side effects.
$ 25. Private Instruction $75.
The RE/Minding For Positive Change and RE/Minding 2 Workshops also teach meditative
prayer forms. Persons interested in Meditation may be considered for RE/Minding 2 without its
usual prerequisite.
HYPNOSIS
Self-Hypnosis Seminar: “Yes You Can”
For anyone who wants to accomplish anything – better, faster, and easier.
Forget Svengali, Hollywood B-movies, and stage performers. All of that may be entertaining but
it’s not what we’re talking about here. Clinical hypnosis and hypnotherapy are recognized fields
in medicine and psychology, that tap into one’s normal mental ability to effect positive change.
Self hypnosis is your direct line to your powerful subconscious mind, for stress management,
habit and behavior change, attitude adjustment, self-image enhancement, self-exploration, and –
as we’ve said before – anything! In a 6-hour seminar or through private tutorial you will learn
how to enter this safe, resourceful mental state in just seconds, and how to use this skill for
reaching your own personal goals. Master this easy-to-learn skill once, and use it for the rest of
your life. One of the best investments of time and money you’ll ever make, and it’s both fun and fascinating.
$75. Private Instruction $150.
COUPLES
RelationShops
Relationship Workshops for couples of any gender who want to radically increase their odds in becoming and remaining “long-time companions”.
Falling in love is both wonderful and easy. Growing in love, through thick and thin and over the
years, is even more wonder-full, but not always easy. Over 50% of marriages fail to endure. The odds are even worse in same-sex relationships. If the two of you want to know what to do after
you say “I do”, to give your relationship staying power, then this is for you. This 6-session series
of workshops teaches an intentional communication format, and then guides you and your partner
in applying the format to key areas and dynamics that are a part of every healthy relationship. Workshop content and materials are adapted from the work of The Relationship Institute of Columbia, Maryland. For new couples or veterans, wherever you are in your life together. A
great wedding or anniversary gift; repeat it every year.
Six 90-minute weekly sessions. Also available as a Weekend Intensive Workshop. $ 265 per couple, Workbook included.
$ 220 per couple if you gather your own group of at least 6 couples in your home. Make it a six-week dinner party or a weekend
retreat at your favorite get-away place, with your friends or people who will become your friends.
